Distance Learning Webinars Offered in English and Spanish
Today, Early Edge California will host the second webinar in its new Distance Learning series. “How to Read Books to Infants & Toddlers” will be offered in English and Spanish and will provide oral language development strategies for Early Learning educators and caregivers supporting infants and toddlers.
The mandate to close schools in California and engage in distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the way that Early Learning teachers are able to engage with their students. To support the current needs of our teachers and the young children they work with, Early Edge California has designed a series of webinars offered in English and Spanish to provide new tools for teaching from home.

WHO: Offered in English and Spanish, the webinar will be led by CSUCI Associate Professor of Early Childhood Studies Carola Oliva-Olson, Ph.D., CSUCI Lead Instructor/Language Learning Project coach Anna Arambula, and hosted by Early Edge California’s Executive Director Patricia Lozano.
This webinar will provide a brief introduction to Personalized Oral Language(s) Learning (POLL) strategies, explain how these strategies can support ECE educators and caregivers in supporting oral language development in infants and toddlers and provide a reading aloud demonstration using these techniques. They will explore ways to support social and emotional development during these difficult times that children and families are encountering.
